This holiday weekend was just what we needed! The last few weeks of school are always hectic; it's nice to have a long-weekend in the madness that is the "end of the school year."
Today, we headed out with our friends, The Alcocks, to see the Newport Memorial Day Parade. It was a small parade, but it was Eisley's first, so we took lots of pictures! The weather was beautiful, we head a scrumptious brunch at Mokka's, and ended the day with some frozen yogurt.
This little teaser weekend made us SO ready for summer break!

Woobie Land
We have officially entered the land of woobies! Eisley loves to sleep with her blankee in her hand rubbed up against her face (and by love, I mean she won't sleep with out it!). It really is just too cute!
I did have to learn the hard way that I DEFINITLEY need more than one in the house. Forgetting that her blanket was in the washer when it was bedtime was not a fun experience! Lesson learned; I have purchased 3 more...just in case! ;-)

Louisville Zoo
We decided to head to Louisville Zoo this weekend! We didn't really think about the fact the Kentucky Derby was happening on the same weekend, but, ironically, it worked out really well! If you ever want to hit up the Louisville Zoo on a weekend, Derby day is the best day to do it! The zoo was practically empty which meant we had full access to all the animals! The zoo keepers even did a little show with the elephants because the "crowds" were small! We were so lucky!
We enjoyed the time "away" and loved seeing the animals. Louisville Zoo is definitely not as great as Cincinnati Zoo, but we got 1/2 price admission with our Cincy Zoo membership and loved the chance to visit a new place with Eisley.

6 Months Old
Eisley is 6 months old! It's really hard to believe we are actually parents to a 6 month old!
Here's what Eisley is up to:
-Eisley is moving into her 9 month clothing. She is not too "round" for 6 month, but she IS too tall for them. It's hard to believe that girl is too tall for anything considering I'm her momma! :)
-She has started eating a few solids, her favorite being Nilla Wafers and Puffs. Boy, oh boy, does she make a mess, but she sure seems to enjoy them!
-She is on the move. She hasn't mastered crawling yet, but she sort-of shuffles along the floor to get to where she wants to go. Chad and I are waiting for the idea of crawling to just "click." Once that happens, we'll be chasing her around everywhere!
-At her check-up, the doctor was happy with her weight, which made Chad and I very happy! She is now in the 30th percentile; just a little peanut! :)
-Eisley is now sleeping through the night! WOO-HOO! I can't begin to explain what a few weeks of uninterrupted sleep did for Chad and me!
-Eisley can sit up on her own and loves to play with toys while doing so. She gets bored easily and needs a plethora of toys to keep her occupied.
-Eisley continues to drink milk most of the day with some fruits/veggies in the afternoons. She is getting more and more interested in food; I'm sure she'll move to eating more food and drinking less milk when we're home with her for the summer!
It's been quite a month of learning and growing. Eisley is catching on to so many things and playing with so many more toys with intention. Chad and I continue to use sign language with Eisley in hopes she catches on and uses it when she's older.
Can't wait to see what the next month brings!
