Twins

Rachel sent us a pic of Isla and Eisley, who were both wearing the same outfit. Isla looks like most girls would when someone else shows up to a party with the same outfit on! :) Too cute!

Sugar and Spice

Eisley's newest "thing," is to flail her head back and arch her back when she's upset about something. It's not too bad when she's in her bouncer, but when she is being held, it's dangerous! This girl is not afraid to get a little sassy to get what she wants....yikes! Chad and I are hoping this isn't a foreshadow to toddler years!

Oh the other hand, she's also quick to remind us that she's just as adorable as sassy!

We just LOVE this baby! :)

Sad Face

This baby has already mastered the art of sticking out her bottom lip!

How can it be so pitiful and so adorable all at the same time?!

Go Bears!

Aunt Michele sent Eisley the cutest Chicago Bears cheerleading outfit! Can't wait to cheer on our team!

And the battle continues...

Eisley has an arch nemesis at three months?! Why, yes, she does; her socks!

This baby must be a summer baby at heart because she wants to be bare foot...always!

We'll continue to fight the good fight while it's cold, but we're looking forward to warmer months and bare feet weather!

STOP...It's Belly Time!

I got up this morning for work and decided to check on Eisley before hopping in the shower. Here's what I found:

This was both exciting and frightening all at the same time! Exciting because it's another fun milestone for our little Eisley girl, but also terrifying because she was on her belly and being on her belly was against the "babies should always sleep on their back!" rule we've heard so many times!

This whole sleeping on her belly makes this momma even more thankful for our video monitor with the motion sensor!
Here's to another milestone!! :-)

Active sleeper

We put Eisley to bed and leave her like this...

...and wake up to find her like this...

Are three month olds supposed to move around the crib like this?!

Making new friends

Eisley spent her first day with Rachel, one of our sitters, on Friday. Rachel has two daughters, Adia and Isla. Rachel sent me a few pics throughout the day of the girls together. I'm glad Eisley, even though she is young, is able to be around other kids (especially ones who already love her!)

Rachel told me that Isla and Adia spent most of the day very softly petting Eisley's head. :-)

Back to work

This past week was my first week back to work after almost a full 12 weeks off! I was dreading it. I was having nothing short of panic attacks when I thought of leaving Eisley. I tried thinking of every type of job I could do from home while making the same amount money...no dice!

We were supposed to head back to school on Monday, Jan. 6th, but luckily enough for Chad and me, it was CRAZY cold and schools were closed Monday AND Tuesday! YAY FOR SNOW DAYS!!! To be honest, we weren't sure if those couple extra days made it easier for us to go back to work, or even more difficult as we sunk even further into our lazy, comfy, never get out of our PJs days at home.

The dreaded Wednesday came around and it was time; time for me to leave for work. Now, I've never been a morning person, so getting up for work has always been difficult for me; however, there is nothing quite like getting up at 5:30am when you've already been up at least once during the night to nurse the baby.  The alarm clock instantly became my arch enemy. Alarm clock = jerk.

Once up, getting ready for the day becomes, as Chad puts it, an Olympic sprint to the finish. There is never enough time, you don't have enough hands, and you pray the baby won't spit up on you before you walk out the door. These are the times when Eisley's cute morning smiles put everything back into perspective.

Day 1 was HORRIBLE! I cried all the way to work. Not the cute, little tears, but the body-wrenching, sloppy ones. By the time I got to work, I looked like I was hit by a bus. BUT, I had made it and was determined to make the best of it! I pulled myself together and walked in. It felt good to see my students and to catch up with my coworkers. To be honest, it was good to get back into a routine. As my friend Alisa has told me, "the routine is good for ME." I agree!  I needed that routine, needed to see my students, and needed to get back to the career I love! I missed Eisley girl desperately and thought of her every single minute, but felt as if I was getting a little bit of myself back that day.

Kyle watched Eisley on Wednesday and Thursday and sent me lots of pics, but these are my favorite. Gosh, I just love this girl!

SO....how many days 'til Summer break?! :)

Say goodbye to cabin fever!

After a string of crazy, cold weather, we were FINALLY able to head outside for a walk. We went to a local park that has great trails and enjoyed the "warm" weather (I'll take 50* degrees over -10* any day!) Eisley was all snuggled up her in winter gear and seemed to enjoy the fresh air.

Lovin' Technology

Nana and Papa live quite far away, but, thanks to technology, we're able to FaceTime. It's nice for my parents to be able to see Eisley when they can't be here with her! Hopefully, they won't be far away for very much longer! What's even better is that Eisley seems to love seeing my parents and herself on the iPad; how fun!

Comfy?

Wrigley dog has decided that my Boppy is her new favorite spot to curl up for a nap...

How could you be mad at a cute little face like that??
